Meta Title Length Checker

Check title length and how it fits in search results.

The blue headline in search results is your page's title tag. Too long and the end is cut with “…”, losing the key message; too short and it lacks keywords and click appeal. This tool measures character count and the estimated pixel width, and previews whether it will be truncated.

CJK characters are wider than Latin, so the same count can truncate sooner — judge by pixel width.

  • Use a unique title on every page.

Frequently asked questions

Is title length judged by characters or pixels?
Search engines truncate by pixel width. Character count is an approximation; with wider scripts it truncates sooner, so pixels are safer.
Does exceeding the length hurt ranking?
Not directly, but a truncated title lowers click-through rate, which can hurt indirectly.
Is my input stored?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent externally.
